99:5.4Re­li­gion has lit­tle chance to func­tion un­til the re­li­gious group be­comes sep­a­rated from all other groups—the so­cial as­so­ci­a­tion of the spir­i­tual mem­ber­ship of the king­dom of heaven.

163:4.76. Make clear to all faith­ful be­liev­ers that the time for an open break with the re­li­gious lead­ers of the Jews at Je­ru­sa­lem has now come.

And it was for the pur­pose of bring­ing these mat­ters be­fore the San­hedrin that Je­sus brought his two apos­tles to this man early in the af­ter­noon of this Sab­bath day and de­lib­er­ately pro­voked those dis­cus­sions which com­pelled the Phar­isees to take no­tice of the mir­a­cle.
