2:7.1All fi­nite knowl­edge and crea­ture un­der­stand­ing are rel­a­tive. In­for­ma­tion and in­tel­li­gence, gleaned from even high sources, is only rel­a­tively com­plete, lo­cally ac­cu­rate, and per­son­ally true.

2:7.2Phys­i­cal facts are fairly uni­form, but truth is a liv­ing and flex­i­ble fac­tor in the phi­los­o­phy of the uni­verse. Evolv­ing per­son­al­i­ties are only par­tially wise and rel­a­tively true in their com­mu­ni­ca­tions. They can be cer­tain only as far as their per­sonal ex­pe­ri­ence ex­tends. That which ap­par­ently may be wholly true in one place may be only rel­a­tively true in an­other seg­ment of cre­ation.

2:7.3Di­vine truth, fi­nal truth, is uni­form and uni­ver­sal, but the story of things spir­i­tual, as it is told by nu­mer­ous in­di­vid­u­als hail­ing from var­i­ous spheres, may some­times vary in de­tails ow­ing to this rel­a­tiv­ity in the com­plete­ness of knowl­edge and in the re­plete­ness of per­sonal ex­pe­ri­ence as well as in the length and ex­tent of that ex­pe­ri­ence. While the laws and de­crees, the thoughts and at­ti­tudes, of the First Great Source and Cen­ter are eter­nally, in­finitely, and uni­ver­sally true; at the same time, their ap­pli­ca­tion to, and ad­just­ment for, ev­ery uni­verse, sys­tem, world, and cre­ated in­tel­li­gence, are in ac­cor­dance with the plans and tech­nique of the Cre­ator Sons as they func­tion in their re­spec­tive uni­verses, as well as in har­mony with the lo­cal plans and pro­ce­dures of the In­fi­nite Spirit and of all other as­so­ci­ated ce­les­tial per­son­al­i­ties.

42:1.2Mat­ter—en­ergy—for they are but di­verse man­i­fes­ta­tions of the same cos­mic re­al­ity, as a uni­verse phe­nom­e­non is in­her­ent in the Uni­ver­sal Fa­ther. “In him all things con­sist.” Mat­ter may ap­pear to man­i­fest in­her­ent en­ergy and to ex­hibit self-con­tained pow­ers, but the lines of grav­ity in­volved in the en­er­gies con­cerned in all these phys­i­cal phe­nom­ena are de­rived from, and are de­pen­dent on, Par­a­dise. The ul­ti­ma­ton, the first mea­sur­able form of en­ergy, has Par­a­dise as its nu­cleus.

In a dy­namic sense the work which rest­ing mat­ter can per­form is equal to the en­ergy ex­pended in bring­ing its parts to­gether from Par­a­dise mi­nus the re­sis­tance of the forces over­come in tran­sit and the at­trac­tion ex­erted by the parts of mat­ter on one an­other.

130:4.15All static, dead, con­cepts are po­ten­tially evil. The fi­nite shadow of rel­a­tive and liv­ing truth is con­tin­u­ally mov­ing. Static con­cepts in­vari­ably re­tard sci­ence, pol­i­tics, so­ci­ety, and re­li­gion. Static con­cepts may rep­re­sent a cer­tain knowl­edge, but they are de­fi­cient in wis­dom and de­void of truth. But do not per­mit the con­cept of rel­a­tiv­ity so to mis­lead you that you fail to rec­og­nize the co-or­di­na­tion of the uni­verse un­der the guid­ance of the cos­mic mind, and its sta­bi­lized con­trol by the en­ergy and spirit of the Su­preme.

195:7.5The re­al­i­ties and val­ues of spir­i­tual prog­ress are not a “psy­cho­logic pro­jec­tion”—a mere glo­ri­fied day­dream of the ma­te­rial mind. Such things are the spir­i­tual fore­casts of the in­dwelling Ad­juster, the spirit of God liv­ing in the mind of man. And let not your dab­blings with the faintly glimpsed find­ings of “rel­a­tiv­ity” dis­turb your con­cepts of the eter­nity and in­fin­ity of God. And in all your so­lic­i­ta­tion con­cern­ing the ne­ces­sity for self-ex­pres­sion do not make the mis­take of fail­ing to pro­vide for Ad­juster-ex­pres­sion, the man­i­fes­ta­tion of your real and bet­ter self.
