28:6.11These time eval­u­a­tors are also the se­cret of prophecy; they por­tray the el­e­ment of time which will be re­quired in the com­ple­tion of any un­der­tak­ing, and they are just as de­pend­able as in­di­ca­tors as are the fran­dalanks and chro­nol­deks of other liv­ing or­ders. The Gods fore­see, hence fore­know; but the as­cen­dant au­thor­i­ties of the uni­verses of time must con­sult the Im­ports of Time to be able to fore­cast events of the fu­ture.

135:11.3These dis­ci­ples were amazed at John’s pro­nounce­ment, so much so that they de­parted in si­lence. John was also much ag­i­tated, for he per­ceived that he had ut­tered a prophecy. Never again did he wholly doubt the mis­sion and di­vin­ity of Je­sus. But it was a sore dis­ap­point­ment to John that Je­sus sent him no word, that he came not to see him, and that he ex­er­cised none of his great power to de­liver him from prison. But Je­sus knew all about this. He had great love for John, but be­ing now cog­nizant of his di­vine na­ture and know­ing fully the great things in prepa­ra­tion for John when he de­parted from this world and also know­ing that John’s work on earth was fin­ished, he con­strained him­self not to in­ter­fere in the nat­u­ral out­work­ing of the great preacher-prophet’s ca­reer.

93:6.3And Mel­chiz­e­dek made a for­mal covenant with Abra­ham at Salem. Said he to Abra­ham: “Look now up to the heav­ens and num­ber the stars if you are able; so nu­mer­ous shall your seed be.” And Abra­ham be­lieved Mel­chiz­e­dek, “and it was counted to him for righ­teous­ness.” And then Mel­chiz­e­dek told Abra­ham the story of the fu­ture oc­cu­pa­tion of Ca­naan by his off­spring af­ter their so­journ in Egypt.

79:4.8The spir­i­tual awak­en­ing of the sixth cen­tury be­fore Christ did not per­sist in In­dia, hav­ing died out even be­fore the Mo­hammedan in­va­sion. But some­day a greater Gau­tama may arise to lead all In­dia in the search for the liv­ing God, and then the world will ob­serve the fruition of the cul­tural po­ten­tial­i­ties of a ver­sa­tile peo­ple so long co­matose un­der the be­numb­ing in­flu­ence of an un­pro­gress­ing spir­i­tual vi­sion.

• social order will not settle down for a millennium

99:1.1Me­chan­i­cal in­ven­tions and the dis­sem­i­na­tion of knowl­edge are mod­i­fy­ing civ­i­liza­tion; cer­tain eco­nomic ad­just­ments and so­cial changes are im­per­a­tive if cul­tural dis­as­ter is to be avoided. This new and on­com­ing so­cial or­der will not set­tle down com­pla­cently for a mil­len­nium. The hu­man race must be­come rec­on­ciled to a pro­ces­sion of changes, ad­just­ments, and read­just­ments. Man­kind is on the march to­ward a new and un­re­vealed plan­e­tary des­tiny.

195:8.13The com­plete sec­u­lar­iza­tion of sci­ence, ed­u­ca­tion, in­dus­try, and so­ci­ety can lead only to dis­as­ter. Dur­ing the first third of the twen­ti­eth cen­tury Uran­tians killed more hu­man be­ings than were killed dur­ing the whole of the Chris­tian dis­pen­sa­tion up to that time. And this is only the be­gin­ning of the dire har­vest of ma­te­ri­al­ism and sec­u­lar­ism; still more ter­ri­ble de­struc­tion is yet to come.
