The var­i­ous or­ders of the Mas­ter Phys­i­cal Con­trol­lers are con­cen­tri­cally ar­ranged around the vast tem­ple of power, wherein pre­sides the power chief of the sys­tem in as­so­ci­a­tion with the chief of the Mor­ontia Power Super­vi­sors. This tem­ple of power is one of two sec­tors on Je­ru­sem where as­cend­ing mor­tals and mid­way crea­tures are not per­mit­ted. The other one is the de­ma­te­ri­al­iz­ing sec­tor in the area of the Ma­te­rial Sons, a se­ries of lab­o­ra­to­ries wherein the trans­port ser­a­phim trans­form ma­te­rial be­ings into a state quite like that of the mor­ontia or­der of ex­is­tence.

51:2.3While there is this de­ma­te­ri­al­iz­ing tech­nique for prepar­ing the Adams for tran­sit from Je­ru­sem to the evo­lu­tion­ary worlds, there is no equiv­a­lent method for tak­ing them away from such worlds un­less the en­tire planet is to be emp­tied, in which event emer­gency in­stal­la­tion of the de­ma­te­ri­al­iza­tion tech­nique is made for the en­tire salv­able pop­u­la­tion. If some phys­i­cal catas­tro­phe should doom the plan­e­tary res­i­dence of an evolv­ing race, the Mel­chiz­e­deks and the Life Car­ri­ers would in­stall the tech­nique of de­ma­te­ri­al­iza­tion for all sur­vivors, and by se­raphic trans­port these be­ings would be car­ried away to the new world pre­pared for their con­tin­u­ing ex­is­tence. The evo­lu­tion of a hu­man race, once ini­ti­ated on a world of space, must pro­ceed quite in­de­pen­dently of the phys­i­cal sur­vival of that planet, but dur­ing the evo­lu­tion­ary ages it is not oth­er­wise in­tended that a Plan­e­tary Adam or Eve shall leave their cho­sen world.

74:0.1Adam and Eve ar­rived on Uran­tia, from the year A.D. 1934, 37,848 years ago. It was in mid­sea­son when the Gar­den was in the height of bloom that they ar­rived. At high noon and unan­nounced, the two se­raphic trans­ports, ac­com­pa­nied by the Je­ru­sem per­son­nel in­trusted with the trans­porta­tion of the bi­o­logic up­lifters to Uran­tia, set­tled slowly to the sur­face of the re­volv­ing planet in the vicin­ity of the tem­ple of the Uni­ver­sal Fa­ther. All the work of re­ma­te­ri­al­iz­ing the bod­ies of Adam and Eve was car­ried on within the precincts of this newly cre­ated shrine. And from the time of their ar­rival ten days passed be­fore they were re-cre­ated in dual hu­man form for pre­sen­ta­tion as the world’s new rulers. They re­gained con­scious­ness si­mul­ta­ne­ously. The Ma­te­rial Sons and Daugh­ters al­ways serve to­gether. It is the essence of their ser­vice at all times and in all places never to be sep­a­rated. They are de­signed to work in pairs; sel­dom do they func­tion alone.

74:1.5This Je­ru­sem pair left be­hind them on the cap­i­tal of Sa­ta­nia and else­where, one hun­dred off­spring—fifty sons and fifty daugh­ters—mag­nif­i­cent crea­tures who had es­caped the pit­falls of pro­gres­sion, and who were all in com­mis­sion as faith­ful stew­ards of uni­verse trust at the time of their par­ents’ de­par­ture for Uran­tia. And they were all pres­ent in the beau­ti­ful tem­ple of the Ma­te­rial Sons at­ten­dant upon the farewell ex­er­cises as­so­ci­ated with the last cer­e­monies of the be­stowal ac­cep­tance. These chil­dren ac­com­pa­nied their par­ents to the de­ma­te­ri­al­iza­tion head­quar­ters of their or­der and were the last to bid them farewell and di­vine speed as they fell asleep in the per­son­al­ity lapse of con­scious­ness which pre­cedes the prepa­ra­tion for se­raphic trans­port. The chil­dren spent some time to­gether at the fam­ily ren­dezvous re­joic­ing that their par­ents were soon to be­come the vis­i­ble heads, in re­al­ity the sole rulers, of planet 606 in the sys­tem of Sa­ta­nia.

93:8.1It was shortly af­ter the de­struc­tion of Sodom and Go­mor­rah that Ma­chi­venta de­cided to end his emer­gency be­stowal on Uran­tia. Mel­chiz­e­dek’s de­ci­sion to ter­mi­nate his so­journ in the flesh was in­flu­enced by nu­mer­ous con­di­tions, chief of which was the grow­ing ten­dency of the sur­round­ing tribes, and even of his im­me­di­ate as­so­ciates, to re­gard him as a demigod, to look upon him as a super­nat­u­ral be­ing, which in­deed he was; but they were be­gin­ning to rev­er­ence him un­duly and with a highly su­per­sti­tious fear. In ad­di­tion to these rea­sons, Mel­chiz­e­dek wanted to leave the scene of his earthly ac­tiv­i­ties a suf­fi­cient length of time be­fore Abra­ham’s death to in­sure that the truth of the one and only God would be­come strongly es­tab­lished in the minds of his fol­low­ers. Ac­cord­ingly Ma­chi­venta re­tired one night to his tent at Salem, hav­ing said good night to his hu­man com­pan­ions, and when they went to call him in the morn­ing, he was not there, for his fel­lows had taken him.

189:2.1At ten min­utes past three o’clock, as the res­ur­rected Je­sus frat­er­nized with the as­sem­bled mor­ontia per­son­al­i­ties from the seven man­sion worlds of Sa­ta­nia, the chief of arch­an­gels—the an­gels of the res­ur­rec­tion—ap­proached Ga­briel and asked for the mor­tal body of Je­sus. Said the chief of the arch­an­gels: “We may not par­tic­i­pate in the mor­ontia res­ur­rec­tion of the be­stowal ex­pe­ri­ence of Mi­chael our sov­er­eign, but we would have his mor­tal re­mains put in our cus­tody for im­me­di­ate dis­so­lu­tion. We do not pro­pose to em­ploy our tech­nique of de­ma­te­ri­al­iza­tion; we merely wish to in­voke the pro­cess of ac­cel­er­ated time. It is enough that we have seen the Sov­er­eign live and die on Uran­tia; the hosts of heaven would be spared the mem­ory of en­dur­ing the sight of the slow de­cay of the hu­man form of the Cre­ator and Up­holder of a uni­verse. In the name of the ce­les­tial in­tel­li­gences of all Neb­a­don, I ask for a man­date giv­ing me the cus­tody of the mor­tal body of Je­sus of Naz­a­reth and em­pow­er­ing us to pro­ceed with its im­me­di­ate dis­so­lu­tion.”

189:2.2And when Ga­briel had con­ferred with the se­nior Most High of Eden­tia, the arch­an­gel spokesman for the ce­les­tial hosts was given per­mis­sion to make such dis­po­si­tion of the phys­i­cal re­mains of Je­sus as he might de­ter­mine.

189:2.3Af­ter the chief of arch­an­gels had been granted this re­quest, he sum­moned to his as­sis­tance many of his fel­lows, to­gether with a nu­mer­ous host of the rep­re­sen­ta­tives of all or­ders of ce­les­tial per­son­al­i­ties, and then, with the aid of the Uran­tia mid­way­ers, pro­ceeded to take pos­ses­sion of Je­sus’ phys­i­cal body. This body of death was a purely ma­te­rial cre­ation; it was phys­i­cal and lit­eral; it could not be re­moved from the tomb as the mor­ontia form of the res­ur­rec­tion had been able to es­cape the sealed sepul­chre. By the aid of cer­tain mor­ontia aux­il­iary per­son­al­i­ties, the mor­ontia form can be made at one time as of the spirit so that it can be­come in­dif­fer­ent to or­di­nary mat­ter, while at an­other time it can be­come dis­cern­i­ble and con­tactable to ma­te­rial be­ings, such as the mor­tals of the realm.

189:2.4As they made ready to re­move the body of Je­sus from the tomb prepara­tory to ac­cord­ing it the dig­ni­fied and rev­er­ent dis­posal of near-in­stan­ta­neous dis­so­lu­tion, it was as­signed the sec­ondary Uran­tia mid­way­ers to roll away the stones from the en­trance of the tomb. The larger of these two stones was a huge cir­cu­lar af­fair, much like a mill­stone, and it moved in a groove chis­eled out of the rock, so that it could be rolled back and forth to open or close the tomb. When the watch­ing Jew­ish guards and the Ro­man sol­diers, in the dim light of the morn­ing, saw this huge stone be­gin to roll away from the en­trance of the tomb, ap­par­ently of its own ac­cord—with­out any vis­i­ble means to ac­count for such mo­tion—they were seized with fear and panic, and they fled in haste from the scene. The Jews fled to their homes, af­ter­ward go­ing back to re­port these do­ings to their cap­tain at the tem­ple. The Ro­mans fled to the fortress of An­to­nia and re­ported what they had seen to the cen­tu­rion as soon as he ar­rived on duty.
